A Legacy Reignited
Warped Tour announced its final full cross-country run in 2018. In a farewell letter, founder Kevin Lyman reflected on the bands that helped shape the tour—from New Found Glory and Good Charlotte to Taking Back Sunday and Blink-182, who were part of its earliest lineups. To this day, Lyman remains committed to making Warped Tour one of the most diverse and inclusive music festivals of the summer.
Kevin Lyman on Warped Tour’s Return
Speaking with Biking With Friends, Lyman expressed gratitude and optimism about the tour’s revival:
“Bringing Warped back has been incredibly rewarding. We’ve enjoyed reconnecting with the bands, non-profits, brands, and—most importantly—our fans, both longtime supporters and those new to the Warped community.”
He also emphasized the importance of emerging talent in keeping the tour’s legacy alive:
“It’s inspiring to see a new wave of talented bands like Hometeam, Magnolia Park, Beauty School Dropouts, Honey Revenge, Oxymorrons, Paradox, Games We Play, and many others carrying the spirit of Warped forward.”
As Warped Tour prepares for its limited-run return, the upcoming shows aim to strike a balance between nostalgia and reinvention—bridging generations and marking a new chapter in the evolution of alternative music culture.
